Last Day of 2015

On the last day of the year, I took the son of our family friend, Nang Linda, to Kyoto to see the sights.  First stop was the famous Kinkakuji Temple.  I decided we take the taxi instead of the bus to Kinkakuji after seeing the loooooong line of people at the bus stop area at Kyoto Station.

Kesse, Nang Linda's second boy (she has 3),  has been working at a company/factory in Osaka since last year.  It was only last Dec 31st that we finally found the time to meet up and see places.

Next stop after lunch was Kiyomizudera.  This is another famous place for Japanese people on the last day of the year.  They visit shrines and temples to pray to their gods.

From Kiyomizudera, we walked down the famous steps where there are a line of souvenir and food shops.  Lots of people there too!

Next stop was the Kawaramachi area in the afternoon.  This is the on the road where the tea houses for maikos and geishas are.

We capped the day with a stroll through the Kobe Motomachi center gai down to Harborland.
