What To Do on Rainy Days and Boring Days

I hate rainy days when I have to go somewhere to meet someone or to do important errands.  But I love it when it rains at night time or when I don't have any plans to go out.

What do I do on those rainy days (and booooooring days)?

I take out my sewing kit and my fabric collection and just sew ..and sew...and sew away the entire day while I listen to sermons or music online!  I don't have a sewing machine so I sew everything by hand.  Yes, it takes a lot of hours to finish one project but the feeling of satisfaction once it's done is unspeakable.

Here are the results of those days...

Relieving Stress in Color

Coloring has always been one of my favorite indoor activities since childhood.  I remember my mother giving my sis and I coloring books or the extra coloring activity sheets from her kinder classes whenever she wanted us indoors or when rainy days would keep us from playing outside.   She told us that  coloring improved our motor coordination and handwriting , and it also   kept  us from getting bored and restless.

Recently, I came across blogs and articles about adult coloring books as great stress-relievers. One time, Lucy Torres -Gomez posted a couple of her finished pages on her instagram and I was hooked.  I checked some sample pages on the internet and I thought of buying one coloring book for myself .  But then,  an idea came to me one night, I thought why not just look for free coloring pages on the internet and print those out with my favorite verses.  That would be better . That would mean saving yen and hours looking for that particular book in Umeda bookshops. Also,  those colored pictures can be mounted on boards and  would be nice to hang on the walls of the house in Leyte .

So this was what I did this past week.  I found many beautiful coloring pages on the internet, copied and pasted them on a blank sheet and typed a favorite verse underneath it.   Then I got the sets of colored pencils that my students use for their coloring activities in class.  Presto!

I posted these photos on my Facebook page.  I got several thumbs-up and encouraging comments from friends.  The best comment was from a high school classmate who said how blessed she was after looking at those pictures.
